At a glance

  • Use the specific Poseidon map location when discussing a visit.
  • The linked restaurant listing was marked permanently closed when checked.
  • Poseidon Bungalows is a distinct nearby property with its own operator information.
  • Consider a separate Khao Lak–Lam Ru coastal walk if you want a fuller outing.

Start by finding the Poseidon you mean

Poseidon is a name to settle before you set out. The linked Google Maps point called Had Poseidon lies on the southern Khao Lak coast. A stop here may appeal when you would like to look at a different part of the shore rather than spend the afternoon on another long northern beach.

There is one practical detail to know at the start: when checked on 3 October 2026, that Google listing was a restaurant marked permanently closed. It should not be used as a promise of a meal or visitor facilities. The nearby accommodation called Poseidon Bungalows has a separate listing and operator website; the restaurant marker does not establish that the property, or the shoreline itself, is closed.

Look at the setting around the name

For context on this part of the coast, Poseidon Bungalows describes its own setting as a cove at the Klong Lamru Duan river mouth, with coastal forest and rocky shore nearby. The river comes down from Khao Lak–Lam Ru National Park, connecting the property’s setting to the wider forest-and-coast landscape. This is the operator’s account of its property, rather than a guarantee of access or facilities at the map-marked beach stop.

That combination gives you a useful question to ask locally: would the permitted arrival point suit a short shore visit, or would you prefer to arrange a visit with a business? Decide which experience interests you. Looking at a river-and-coast setting and sitting down for lunch are both possible reasons to investigate the area, but they need their own current arrangements.

Choose an arrival you can actually use

Show the exact map point to Khaolak Forest staff or your transport provider, settle the current shore entrance, and agree on the return meeting point. If that entrance passes through a property, obtain its permission for a day visit before setting out.

Describe any mobility or facility needs as part of that same arrangement: firm ground, easy steps or a nearby toilet can matter more than the size of the beach. Once the route suits your group, keep the visit simple and within the area you have agreed to use.

Let a shore visit be enough

Bring drinking water, sun protection and footwear suited to the route described to you. Keep the visit within ground you can manage comfortably. There is no need to climb onto rocks or cross a river mouth to make the outing worthwhile.

Plan to enjoy the shore without depending on swimming. Follow local guidance and warning flags; coastal riptides and river currents are recognised risks, particularly in the rainy season. A sheltered-looking cove is not a swimming assessment. For children or a mixed-ability group, choose the visit for what everyone can enjoy on land.

Make the coast the theme of the outing

If you want a longer outing in southern Khao Lak, compare this stop with the coastal section of Khao Lak–Lam Ru National Park. The provincial tourism page describes a rocky shore and Hat Lek, reached on a nature trail. It offers a separate forest-and-coast experience; the park trail is not an access route to the Poseidon pin.

Choose the park as your main activity if walking is the reason for going, then consider Poseidon only if its current access suits the remaining time. Alternatively, keep the shore stop brief and return for a meal elsewhere. The useful choice is the kind of afternoon you want, with the correct destination and a workable arrival established before you leave.
